Process and Practice

Synthesizing an intense studio routine with the immersive field-oriented format of Plein Air painting popularized by the Impressionists, Roth’s work embraces the hybridity of natural conditions and the transformative nature of seeing while emphasizing scrupulous deliberation particular to the image-plasticity of camouflage as the centralization of his practice.

An art exhibition displays various paintings of landscapes, trees, and figures on a dark gray partition. A person wearing a black t-shirt with a white graphic and jeans stands to the right of the display, in an indoor space with hardwood flooring.
